Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs are pleased to announce that the global annual environmental report 2008 has now been launched. The report covers both Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs’ activities as the two business units were united in Maersk Contractors up until mid-2008.

It is the first time ever that Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs launch a public environmental report covering a full year.

This 2008 report:

• Highlights environmental performance data
• Identifies areas where changes have taken place compared to 2007
• Highlights the current environmental initiatives
• Presents the environmental strategy and objectives for 2009 - 2013
• Identifies potential areas for improvement

The data in the report is extracted from Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs' global environmental performance monitoring programme and includes:

• Atmospheric emissions
• Planned and un-planned discharges
• Waste generation
• Resource consumption

We measure our activities within these areas in order to improve our performance and to document our progress. In Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs we strive to set our environmental standards higher than required - the 2008 environmental report aims to give a balanced view of Maersk Drilling and Maersk FPSOs' environmental performance.
