Occupational health – guarding quality of life
In Maersk FPSOs we are committed to guard the health and safety of our employees in a long-term perspective. We want to offer a safe working environment for everyone to be able to come home safe and sound after each shift and to some day retire in good health.
To carry out our health-policy we have a working environment management system in compliance with the international standard of OHSAS 18001. As a crucial part of the system we identify and map workplaces and jobs and perform measurements and assessments of a wide range of factors.
These assessments are comprised in a Work Place Assessment (WPA), which forms the basis for the local occupational health and working environment program of each unit.
To emphasise the interaction between personal health and working environment, we have planned for a pilot project on nutrition and exercise on a unit in the Gulf of Mexico.
The top management supports health initiatives. Moreover while recognising our obligation to provide and maintain safe conditions for work, each employee is imposed the duty to be responsible for their own work and to act in a way that promotes the safety and health of others.
